When Can I File An Appeal

In short, you CAN and SHOULD file an appeal each and every year unless you are paying your fair share.  How do you know if you are or are not?  Simply download our mobile app. and find out for FREE.

You will receive a reassessment notice in the mail when the Assessor’s Office reassesses your property (typically, every three years). Once you have received your notice, you have 35 calendar days to file an appeal with our office. The last date to file an appeal is printed on your notice.

You CAN and SHOULD appeal your assessed valuation each year, including reassessment years, when your property’s township is open for appeal.  In reassessment years, the County will automatically reassess, though that doesn’t mean you will like the result.  In the other two years between reassessments, you can appeal to ask them to reassess based on any number of factors.
